Rehabilitation of Persons with disability

AVKS is focus towards upliftment of persons with disability and disadvantageous community. We conduct regular sessions with disables group of people for need identification and problems, they are facing. Our rehabilitation program is one of our innovative initiatives to resettle and boost their social life includes;

  1. PARICHAYA SAMMELAN

    Majority of Family members do not take any interest in marriage of disabled person and exclude them from social programs. At AVKS, we feel everyone has an equal right to live, get married and begin their social life. In order to provide them social status in community, we conduct "Parichay Sammelan" for disabled youths from the community every year. Since inception we have taken this responsibility for certain extend. Through this parichay sammelan many pairs came together to lead a family life. This is a good opportunity for them to find right person for their life.

  2. Kanyadan & Vivah Protsahan:

    In joint intervention with Mukhyamantri Kanyadan yojna, we organize community marriages for the disabled persons in Jhabua and Alirajpur districts. With this intervention, we counsel disabled couple and provide required assistance for marriage. Our effort provides benefits to vulnerable disabled group and supports them to go ahead with their normal married life without any debt or others financial problems.

  3. Career Counseling and Guidance:

    In the rural areas, disable students and youth do not have much knowledge about latest career opportunities and available resources. We facilitate in awareness generation and resource mobilization for them to shaping their career. We also provide guidance and develop networking for availing benefits with government schemes.

  4. Vocational Skill and Entrepreneurship Development

    Our mission is to provide self sustainability to everyone, especially for disabled people and socio economic deprived women and youth. Therefore, we evolve in promotion of various vocational skill development trainings programmes for unemployed women, youth and persons with disabilities of Jhabua and Alirajpur districts. We initiated livelihood skill enhancement in stitching, embroidery, dona-pattal making, envelope making, adiwasi doll making, artificial jewelry, galsan mala making, bamboo and craft work and candle making etc. These courses are simple to learn by disabled people, offer an additional and sustainable income resource for their livelihood. Many people benefitted through these programmes, which we count as our outstanding achievement.
